The Cooma Universities Centre, in a joint project with Cooma’s Lambie Street Preschool and the University of Wollongong, will be streaming an international conference on early childhood development issues next week.
The inaugural “Early Start” Conference is being held at the University of Wollongong and key note presentations will be streamed direct to the main lecture room at the CUC. The only other way to access this unique opportunity is to attend either Wollongong University or its satellite campus in Bega, making residents of the Cooma Monaro and Snowy Mountains communities incredibly fortunate!
The conference begins on Monday evening with the live streamed keynote address from Professor Catherine Snow (Harvard University, USA), addressing the conference theme of Digital Learning and Literacy in an early childhood setting. Other keynote presentations during Tuesday and Wednesday include Professor Edward Melhuish (Oxford University, UK) on cognitive development, Professor Iram Siraj (University College London, England) on pedagogy and policy, Professor Michael Wald (Stanford University, USA) on social inclusion and Professor Dianne Ward (University of North Carolina, USA) on healthy lifestyles.
The Cooma Universities Centre and Lambie Street Preschool would like to extend an invitation to early childhood educators in the area to attend any of these presentations at the CUC in Bombala Street, Cooma. Booking is essential - contact Zoe Dawson on 6452 3368 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
