Sessional Tutors

The CUC employ sessional (casual) tutors in a wide range of disciplines to support students studying at the centre. We are currently seeking qualified tutors who are enthusiastic, motivated and willing to share their knowledge and experience with our Education and Business student cohorts.


Desired Qualifications: Currently undertaking or completed post graduate study in a related discipline

Minimum Qualifications: Undergraduate degree and work experience in a related discipline

Workload and Remuneration

Required Workload: Two hours per unit for each week of the teaching semester and occasional Assignment marking

Remuneration: Employment is on a casual hourly rate through the partner university – rates are according to their enterprise agreement

Selection Criteria

  • Knowledge and understanding of the subject matter
  • Enthusiasm, commitment and passion for engaging in adult education
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stimulate, actively engage and educate a given audience
  • Empathy with students and the struggles they may experience in specific units of study and / or their transition to university study
  • Ability to identify areas of student difficulty AND implement strategies/study tips to help students overcome those difficulties
  • Capacity to use feedback to further improve your teaching
  • Willingness to participate in assessment mediation with the partner university
